Aon is looking for an Investment Consultant Analyst, Private Markets in Chicago, IL

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with research and recommendations for private equity and other private markets investment opportunities.
  • As part of the underwriting team, assist and perform due diligence on potential investments, which includes modeling, valuation analysis and document preparation.
  • Monitor existing investments for performance and strategic deviations and report out to the PE research team.
  • Provide proactive and creative support to RMs and clients. Apply good judgment and appropriate follow-through with RMs, investment managers, trustees and clients.
  • Demonstrate initiative and ownership of client and research-related work.
  • Exhibit outstanding knowledge of finance and investment theory and practice and the ability to apply this knowledge to client and practice/research area work.
  • Manage and deliver loosely defined and complex practice/research area work and client projects with some supervision.
  • Assist RM's in making presentations to and dealing directly with clients.
  • Assist in the completion of RFP's and presentations for business development opportunities with prospective clients.
  • Contribute to the success of a practice/research area.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business related major.
  • CFA or on CFA path is preferred.
  • 2+ years of work experience, within a financial/investment environment and/or working for institutional investors.
  • An understanding of investment concepts, specifically Private Equity and the financial markets.
  • Prefer some knowledge of the Private Equity industry.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work independently on a variety of projects, receive instructions from several people and meet project deadlines.
  • Team player who can work with a variety of individuals.
  • Outstanding analytical skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience with PCs and Microsoft Office products.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position intended for U.S. applicants is $69,000 to $92,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.

Aon offers a comprehensive package of benefits for full-time and regular part-time colleagues, including, but not limited to: a 401(k) savings plan with employer contributions; an employee stock purchase plan; consideration for long-term incentive awards at Aon's discretion; medical, dental and vision insurance.
