Mission: The Force Tracking Support DevOps Engineer applies scientific and engineering techniques to architect, implement, and sustain secure, reliable, and efficient DevOps pipelines supporting the development, integration, and delivery of Force Tracking capabilities. The engineer will specify functional requirements and design solutions involving advanced networking protocols, client-server architectures, database technologies, and high-order programming languages. This role bridges development and operations, enabling agile and automated deployment within a mission-critical defense environment. We anticipate the start date for the successful candidate will be August 4, 2025 Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize DevOps pipelines for software build, test, integration, and deployment in support of Force Tracking systems.
- Apply advanced networking techniques and protocols to ensure system scalability and security across distributed architectures.
- Design and implement client-server architectures using containerization, virtualization, and cloud-based technologies.
- Work with the team to layout development and test workflows to better track new work and expected delivery dates.
- Decompising requirements into manageable work items for development and test on a per sprint basis.
- Ensure DevOps workflows integrate with cybersecurity best practices and comply with DoD security standards.
- Support continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) environments and automate configuration management using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Git, or similar.
- Analyze system performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend optimizations for operational effectiveness.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance and able to obtain a DOD Top Secret Security Clearance and be eligible for SCI
- DoD IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) certification required
- Must have at least 2 year experience workign with Microsoft DevOps
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience, of which at least three (3) must be specialized experience including designing, implementing and/or administering medium to large information systems and/or networks, including experience in.
- - Client-server architectures
- - Understanding on full software stack
- - Experience creating and maintaining YML based pipelines
- Must have at least two (2) years of experience in creating technical documentation, reports and/or presentations.
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must have and maintain an appropriate DoDI 8570.01-M (Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program) certification for the appointed duty level.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree of science in engineering or scientific field of study from an accredited college or university
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related scientific field from an accredited institution.
- Experience with DevSecOps pipelines in a DoD or mission-critical environment
- Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, or other cloud/containerization platforms
- Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
