Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Support Specialist located in Newark, NJ for the Child Health Program within the School of Nursing.

The Program Support Specialist functions in the administrative management of the Child Health Program ( CHP). The Program Support Specialist reports directly to the Director.
Duties include:

  • Manage administrative responsibilities with enthusiasm and accuracy including, but not limited to: scheduling meetings, handling requests, answering phones and responding to caller's questions, filing, faxing, scanning and copying.
  • Under the supervision of the Director and/or Senior Financial Analyst must have the ability to review and process monthly expense reports and maintain monthly expense spreadsheet with proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Under the supervision of the Director and Senior Financial Analyst responsible for monitoring and maintaining requests for telecommunication equipment, medical supplies, reference materials and update related inventories.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of organized systems, including but not limited to: records management which consists of highly confidential personnel, contract file records, resource materials and general office files.

  • Bachelor's degree in liberal arts, Public, or Business Administration, Social Services or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in senior administrative assistance.
  • Excellent writing, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent follow-up skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize with strong time management skills.
  • Team player who is flexible and adaptable in handling unexpected requests.
  • Solution oriented and resourceful.
  • Accountability/takes ownership of responsibilities.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
