This position is located in Alexandria, VA.

This is part-time employment.

This is a set aside position for an individual with a disability.

The core working hours are 7:00am to 12:00pm, Monday through Friday.

The hourly wage is $18.31.

This is a non-exempt position. Employees are eligible for overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 hours in a standard workweek should it be necessary.

General Clerk I

Provide courteous, fast and efficient service in all phases of mailroom duties, including, but not limited to, accurately sorting, logging in, picking up and delivering mail.

Responsibilities:



  1. Provide mail services to the contract using the U.S. Postal Service and private carriers such as FedEx and United Parcel Service.
  2. Receive, sort and dispatch mail to centralized locations.
  3. Pick up outgoing mail.
  4. Maintain chain of custody log books.
  5. Meter all outgoing mail.
  6. Deliver outgoing mail for processing.



Must be able to stand/walk 80% of the time; must be able to lift, carry, push and or pull 50 lbs.; must be able to speak, hear and see. All of these requirements are necessary in order to properly accomplish all essential functions within this job description.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to work independently and follow direction with little supervision.
