Overview

Do you have an IAT Level II Certification and a TS/SCI Clearance? AMERICANS SYSTEMS is seeking a Systems Administrator, Senior with 5 - 8 years of experience to join us on our recently awarded 5-year contract supporting The US Space Force in Colorado Springs, CO.



Responsibilities

    Organize, install, and support government organization's computer systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems.
  • Work within a well-established team of like-minded professionals to provide support to USSF. Have a unique opportunity to learn various aspects of work and grow within the company.
  • Assist architect, design and analyze network models.
  • Participate in decisions about buying future hardware or software to upgrade organization's infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support to computer users to help solve users' problems and support activities within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, such as HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and Military Departments efforts.
  • Provide "day-to-day" support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities and execute day to day management and operations of systems and networks.
  • Manage COTS & GOTS products to collect, display and remediate a variety of automated system security and system operations/performance functions, metrics and follow Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists to maintain the service (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly O&M checklists);
  • Build Tactics, Techniques and Processes (TTPs) and Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) associated with service checklists.
  • Coordinate and conduct a formal on-site assessment of the LAN at the LAN location(s); Ensure the assessment addresses inventory of all hardware/software, imaging and configuration of machines, modifying Active Directory & Exchange, configuration and security hardening of network equipment.
  • Coordinatie with inside & outside entities on reconfiguration of routing and firewalls and preparing artifacts for Cybersecurity Accreditation, mitigating a LAN's issues, and modifying or creating processes (such as backup, recovery, and auditing) to meet organizational requirements.
  • Provide the LAN location (organization) an overview of process to perform tasks such as inventory of all hardware/software, imaging and configuration of machines, and modifying Active Directory & Exchange. Perform system administration tasks in support of collapse/extension of an existing LAN or the merger of existing LANs.
  • Perform system administration tasks in support of collapse/extension of an existing LAN or the merger of existing LANs. These tasks include, but are not limited to, inventory of all hardware/software, imaging, and configuration of machines, modifying Active Directory & Exchange, and preparing artifacts for Cybersecurity Accreditation.
  • Work as part of a security incident response team as needed


Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance and be SAP eligible. Candidates must be willing to obtain CI Poly.
  • Education: Certifications are preferred above degree requirement - DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security+ CE, GSEC, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, CND, SSCP), RHCSA, VCP, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in: Working technical competency in one or more of the following supported platforms: Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, MS Hyper- V/VMWare/ESx/Xen Hypervisors, Enterprise networking/firewalls/intrusion detection/prevention systems, forensic analysis/vulnerability assessment, Group Policy management and configuration, Scripting, BMC Footprints, WSUS, , Lumension, Bitlocker, SQL Server 2012, TomCat, IIS, Windows Server 2012r2/2016, Win 10, Red Hat 6.5, Microsoft Office Toolkits, SIEMs, Logrhythm, ACAS/Nessus/SCAP, mandatory/role-based access control concepts (e. g. SE Linux extensions to RHEL, PitBull, AppArmor, and Sentris) , video teleconferencing/VOIP, Oracle/MS SQL database security, and Apache/IIS Web server security
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems, Microsoft Exchange Server, and as needed RHEL operating systems administration and associated hardware
  • Working knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies and data backup technologies to include communication security (COMSEC) integration
  • Working knowledge of CISCO network and switching and virtualization technologies and ability to operate under supervision
  • Working knowledge and current relevant experience with PL2 and PL3 network environment systems and WSUs and/or YUM patch deployment methodologies
  • Must be familiar with DoD policy as it applies to implementing and executing system and network administration. Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lb
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g, VMware, Hyper-V), services, architectures/designs, and best practices
    Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
  • Experience providing technical support in a customer service role and applying industry standards and best practices in an enterprise-level Windows system environment
  • Experience solving technical problems quickly and identifying opportunities to automate repetitive processes


Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $80,100.00/Yr. - USD $133,700.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
