Your Role on the Team

Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Career Development, the Employer Relations & Recruitment Manager serves as the primary liaison to legal employers, maintaining relationships with potential employers to establish contacts to meet the career needs of UCI Law students.

Conceptualizes, develops, and implements programs, events, and communication strategies designed to serve employer and student needs. Continually develops innovative and effective ways to engage with employers to ensure delivery of highly customized and responsive employment programs. Engages in on-going assessments of the efficacy of current programs and services offered and proposes and implements appropriate modifications and changes. Analyzes employment trends, hiring data, and the needs and priorities of UCI Law students to make recommendations for changes to recruiting strategies.

Creates opportunities for employers to contact and recruit UCI Law students and advises employers on ways to most effectively convey their marketing messages to students. Works with employers to develop and facilitate long-term outreach strategies and maximize recruiting potential. Markets the talents and skills of UCI Law students to potential employers.

Manages all aspects of three large interview programs, including registration, scheduling and facilitating virtual and on-campus interviews. Maintains job opportunities database. Provides technical assistance to employers and students, as needed.

Performs independently but may receive guidance in developing new career-related and interview programs.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Ability to design and modify computer applications to meet program needs, problem identification, presentation skills, verbal communication, written communication, and organization skills.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse cultures.
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 3-5 years Professional work experience
  • 3-5 years Experience with computer software products and database management
  • 3-5 years Demonstrated experience in detail-oriented projects and responsibilities
  • 3-5 years Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • 3-5 years Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred:

  • Strong knowledge of career development theories, adult development theory, counseling process, career coaching techniques, career decision making, learning styles, and job search techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of needs assessment theory, processes, and practice; workshop and program design.
  • 3-5 years Experience in legal recruitment, career services, or a related field
  • 3-5 years Knowledge of UC programs, career services, employer, alumni, and faculty needs and expectations, recruiting and staffing methods, and employment trends.

Total Compensation

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $63,000.00- $85,000.00 (Annual).
