Requisition ID req33679 Working Title Program Specialist Position Grade 12 Position Summary The College of Education and Human Sciences (COEHS) seeks highly motivated, detail-oriented and organized applicants for a Program Specialist to support contract and grant post-award oversight, coordination, and administration. This position will join the College's research team, under the leadership of the Associate Dean for Research and Distance Education, to provide post-award grant support to the numerous research projects across the COEHS. Under the supervision of the post-award Senior Program Manager, the Program Specialist will provide support for a wide variety of fiscal, personnel, and administrative tasks related to the management of grants and their objectives. The COEHS has more than 15 million in contract and grant funding via numerous awards which vary in size and scope. This position will serve as the primary purchasing agent for goods, services, and travel that come into the unit in support of a wide variety of externally funded grants, in addition to processing reimbursements as needed, especially for grants that do not have an assigned staff support member. This position would also assist with tasks such as event planning and coordination, faculty and staff personnel transactions and processes, training of grant support staff, participation in developing best practices, and other direct support to grant projects and faculty. A successful applicant for this position would need to understand UNM fiscal and HR processes and policies, possess a strong customer service skill set and independent but collaborative work ethic, and ideally possess experience with external grants. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications
