Today's thriving companies realize the necessity of managing business risk. As an intern on the IT Audit team, you will help clients identify and manage that risk and improve IT processes and controls. Key services performed by the IT Audit team include System Organization Control (SOC) 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 attestation engagements and IT controls design and operating effectiveness assessments for financial audits.

As a part of the IT Audit team,you will gain valuable experience and use your critical thinking abilities to help clients solve problems and apply your social skills to build rewarding business relationships. As a trusted advisor, you will remain informed on the latest information technology trends and emerging risks that impact our clients. Alongside Forvis Mazars senior staff and management personnel, you will work with clients in a variety of industries as you develop your technical skills and strengthen the foundation on which you will build your career.

How you will contribute:

  • Demonstrating an understanding of IT controls associated with applications, databases, operating systems, networks, and reporting tools.
  • Performing IT general control audit procedures including walkthroughs and testing of IT general controls for areas such as change management, logical security, computer operations, cybersecurity, etc.
  • Working with client personnel to gain an understanding of IT processes and controls, obtain audit evidence, and analyze testing results.
  • Delivering Forvis Mazars' commitment to unmatched client experience through timely and responsive communication with internal and external clients
  • Completing audit testing on financial statement accounts such as cash, accounts payable, or fixed assets
  • Working with client personnel to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data
  • Helping to draft management letter comments and the audit report
  • Participating in client meetings alongside Forvis Mazars partners and managers

We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:

  • Solid technical accounting knowledge

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills preferred, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work well with a team as well as independently
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Willingness to take initiative
  • Close attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and against deadlines.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from your assigned office and be able to attend off-site meetings and events in person.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, information systems, computer science or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher (in major and overall)
