DESCRIPTION

Under the minimal supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Surgery Scheduler Lead primarily oversees, provides leadership, and training for all back end duties such as call center, referral and authorizations, and other advanced administrative duties such as templates, office purchases, coaching, etc. This position has oversight over his/her junior counterparts. The Lead serves as a resource for the entire department. With the guidance of the Clinic Manager, the Lead initiates and participates in improvement efforts which directly impact the practice. Provides back up support to the front desk as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of Four (4) years previous related experience in a large complex healthcare setting.

  • Perform lead duties and provide back up support for surgery schedulers/clinical care coordinators.

  • Experience with time keeping and managing staff schedules.

  • Demonstrated experience handling scheduling, registration and authorization.

  • Proven experience in working with Health Insurance companies and Community Medical Groups.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of various insurance including HMO, PPO, POS, etc.

  • Experience coordinating, planning, maintaining and arranging complex calendars for meetings, events, programs and appointments.

  • Experience coordinating surgical cases, surgical health insurance authorizations and working with hospital operating rooms.

  • Experience producing marketing materials, letters, correspondence and/or reports containing tables, slides, graphs, etc.

  • Strong experience with editing and proofreading documents, as well as writing clear, accurate correspondence, meeting minutes, and/or reports.

  • Excellent knowledge of English grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure/formats, demonstrated skill in composing correspondence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bilingual in both Spanish and English.
  • Possess the skills, and extensive knowledge of practices in Ambulatory setting.
  • Administrative lead; and front office administration.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Able to flex work hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays if required for businessneeds.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $63,016 - $78,384 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.18 - $37.54

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
