Overview
As of July 14, 2025, the step 1 rate for pay grade 23 will be $27.50 per hour. Vermont State Parks seeks a positive, energetic, hardworking administrative professional to join our Central Office team. The Administrative Services Coordinator III position supports multiple facets of park operations. The position is heavily involved in recruiting, hiring and placing our 400 seasonal staff each year, including providing training and assistance to the four Regional Teams, and working closely with our Human Resources partners. The position also coordinates statewide efforts managing our reservation and Point of Sale program. Other duties include, but are not limited to, event planning; marketing support; merchandise program support, park supply procurement; and general administrative support; among other duties. The administrative services coordinator III works under the supervision of the Chief of Park Operations, but works closely with the Sales and Marketing Manager, Administrative Services Manager, Parks Director, and the four regional teams. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives when working on diverse projects and supporting multiple programs. Candidates should have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to tackle various assignments. Work is primarily in an office setting. This position works out of the parks central office in Montpelier with frequent opportunities to telework. Who May Apply

Work is performed in a standard office setting. Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization INCLUDING one (1) year or more in an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff. OR One year of full-time college level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND three (3) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization INCLUDING one (1) year or more in an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff. OR Two years of full-time college level study OR an associate's degree or higher in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND two (2) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization INCLUDING one (1) year or more in an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff. OR Three years of full-time college level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND one (1) year or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization INCLUDING one (1) year or more in an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff. OR Four years of full-time college level study OR a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field. OR One (1) year or more as an Administrative Services Coordinator II with the State of Vermont NOTE: Only administrative work experience is qualifying. Administrative support includes those functions which keep the organization running or provide the resources for others to provide the programmatic work (e.g., accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing, or space management).
