Responsibilities

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey where you can make a real difference in the lives of others? At Newport, we're on the lookout for a vibrant and enthusiastic Direct Care Training Coordinator to lead our new hire training adventures! If you have a passion for teaching, a knack for coaching, and a desire to inspire, this role is for you!

What You'll Be Rockin' and Rollin':

As our Direct Care Training Coordinator, you'll be the superhero of training and development, guiding our Care Coordinator (CC) team to greatness! You'll work hand-in-hand with our awesome Learning and Development crew, ensuring that every new hire is equipped with the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to shine in their roles.

Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It):

  • Empower and Inspire: Develop the competence and confidence of our CCs through engaging individual and group training sessions. You'll model the best behaviors and techniques while providing debriefs that spark critical thinking and creativity!

  • Kick Off New Adventures: Facilitate exciting new hire trainings and lead portions of our lively orientation sessions. You'll keep everything organized and ensure that training progress is tracked like a pro!

  • Team Up with HR: Collaborate with our local HR team to make sure CCs complete their HealthStream and other training courses on time. Teamwork makes the dream work!

  • Continuous Growth: Provide ongoing training and coaching to CCs, ensuring our curriculum meets all local and state licensing requirements. You'll be the guiding light in their professional journey!

  • Share the Good News: Communicate regularly with Program management about individual progress, growth, and any potential concerns. Your insights will help shape our training programs!

  • Encourage Career Adventures: Guide our direct care staff through leveling systems and career progression maps, helping them navigate their paths to success!

  • Train the Trainers: Provide CPI and CPR training for all new hires and keep everyone certified and ready for action!

  • Ensure Compliance: Work with leadership to monitor subcontractors and ensure they meet state and local training requirements. You'll be our compliance champion!

  • Collaborate and Innovate: Partner with the Learning and Development department to create dynamic training curriculums and exciting initiatives that keep our training fresh and fun!

Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, or sociology preferred.
  • Prior work experience in behavioral health treatment settings with adolescents and young adults preferred.
  • Must earn CPI trainer certificate within 90 days of start date.
  • Must earn CPR trainer certificate within 120 days of start date.
  • Valid driver's license (for state for which you are applying) and be eligible for insurance coverage for driving company vehicles.
