A Brief Overview About the Laboratory Dr. Richard Aplenc, MD, PhD, Professor of Pediatrics and Epidemiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, AVP and Chief Clinical Research Officer, and The Mai and Harry F. West Endowed Chair in Pediatric Research at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, is seeking a talented and strongly self-motivated individual to join his collaborative team as a Research Lab Specialist II. Dr. Aplenc's work aims to improve clinical outcomes for pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients through translational, patient-centered outcomes research, and large data projects. One specific area of Dr. Aplenc's research focuses on the discovery of novel therapeutic targets in pediatric AML through a proteogenomics approach. The Research Lab Specialist II will work closely with senior scientific staff and will participate in planned research projects by performing experimental procedures with minimal supervision. Successful candidates will have a BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field. Prior experience working or volunteering in a basic science laboratory is strongly preferred. This position is intended for individuals interested in a career in basic or translational sciences, with a desire to make meaningful scientific contributions as part of a dynamic team. SALARY RANGE: $61,360.00 - $78,230.00 AnnuallySalary ranges are shown for full-time jobs.
