POSITION SPECIFICS Penn State Hazleton is accepting applications for a full-time Coordinator of Practical Nursing Program. The position will report to the Regional Director of Practical Nursing and will have direct responsibility for the management of policies and procedures, academic quality, integrity and compliance for the Practical Nursing program at the Hazleton campus.The Hazleton Practical Nursing program is an 18-month program offered during the evenings with clinicals scheduled on weekends. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and training of instructors, working with other LPN program Coordinators to review curriculum and update where appropriate, clinical site and classroom scheduling, supporting students for success. The Coordinator of the Practical Nursing program at Penn State Hazleton develops, delivers, manages and evaluates the practical nursing program providing leadership, consultation, program coordination, technical assistance and related services. The position develops and maintains relationships with healthcare agencies and Penn State faculty/staff to support programming needs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: NoneA Pennsylvania Nursing License is required. Prior experience in higher education and training in the healthcare field is preferred. A typical schedule for this role is Monday-Friday from 8-5 with occasional evenings, weekends to provide the necessary oversight and support of the program. BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
