The incumbent in this position is
required to have a
regularly flexible schedule to accommodate events schedule, including nights and weekends. Occasional holiday work required.
This position is designated as mandatory staff during adverse weather or emergency events and, when contacted to report to work, the employee is expected to reach the campus as quickly as possible using normal precautions as dictated by adverse weather conditions. |

Minimum Experience/Education |
- Recent college graduates or graduate school level with a study emphasis in Sport Management, Public Facility Management, Event Management, or a related field.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: |
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience working in Athletics, Event Management, Facility/Venue Management
- Strong background in customer service, safety, and security
- Knowledge of Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel
- Well organized with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills

Duties and Responsibilities |
Position will serve as a hybrid position serving all athletic facilities including Halton Arena, Jerry Richardson Stadium, Robert & Mariam Hayes Stadium, Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium, Irwin Belk Track and Field Center, Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex and Transamerica Field.
Student Staff Lead: This Position will serve as the athletics student staff liaison. Working closely with the Guest Services Manager to assure all athletic events and outside rentals are properly staffed with student workers.
Administration: This position will work with the department Business Coordinator and Administrative Specialist to streamline all department operations including, but not limited to, department SOP's, Budget Tracking, Work Orders, etc.
Event Management Responsibilities: Coordinate events as assigned for athletic venues including Barnhardt Student Activity Center and Jerry Richardson Stadium. Assist with high profile events including International Festival, Concerts, Convocation, and Commencement.
Game Management: Serve as primary Game Manager for Men's Tennis and Women's Tennis. Assist in Game Management for Volleyball, Football and Track & Field events.
**Event coverage will include but not limited to; event opening and closing responsibilities, assisting event personnel with various functions, and troubleshooting/problem-solving during events as required.
Other event related duties as assigned. |
Other Work/Responsibilities |
Grounds: assist with the daily use and preventative maintenance of the athletic fields and facilities. Assist with game day setup, event setup, and operations for athletic facilities and events.
Technical Services: assist with administrative and daily technical support functions of the department, including sound systems, lighting, and audiovisual equipment, video presentation.
Building Services: Assist with administrative and daily supervision for the building services staff for the primary building cleaning as well as the set-up and equipment needs of the events for the facility. Assist with event setup, equipment, and operations for athletic facilities and events.
Event Assistants also assist with any special projects related to the management of athletics and public assembly facilities. |
