Position Summary
We are seeking a Project Engineer to join the onsite engineering team for a hyper-scale data center construction project near Amarillo, Texas. This role provides essential technical and administrative support throughout the project lifecycle and will report to the Program Engineer. The Project Engineer will play a key role in coordination among project team members, design professionals, subcontractors, and client stakeholders to resolve field challenges and maintain alignment across all disciplines. This is a fully onsite role with responsibilities including but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support meetings with area managers, design teams, subcontractors, and client representatives
Coordinate and resolve field construction issues across civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) systems
Review and interpret design drawings, construction documents, and technical manuals
Organize and support training of client personnel on CSA operations and maintenance
Review and process submittals, shop drawings, and technical data; ensure system compatibility and constructability
Generate and manage RFIs, change documents, and directives
Support BIM coordination and clash detection efforts
Participate in QA/QC activities, including pre-functional testing and system commissioning
Provide technical field support including layout verification and installation sequencing
Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineers to ensure integrated system design
Assist with documentation of as-built conditions and turnover processes
Qualifications
Professional Experience & Education
Minimum of 3 years of Project Engineering experience in commercial construction (hyperscale or mission-critical data center experience preferred)
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent field/craft experience
High School diploma or GED required
Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, sequencing, and commissioning workflows
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
Experience with project management tools: Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, MS Project, Primavera P6
Familiarity with design software: AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and survey data
Familiarity with CSI MasterFormat and technical data organization best practices

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Combination of office and active construction site duties
Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs; work in confined spaces; and lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions on active job sites
Strong visual, hearing, and mobility capabilities to perform technical and safety functions
Ability to access all levels of a construction site and work in proximity to loud equipment
