Diesel Mechanic

Advantage xPO is hiring experienced Diesel Mechanics in Kansas City, MO for an exciting opportunity with a leader in rail and industrial equipment. If you're skilled in diesel diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and system assembly-or you're a recent trade school graduate looking to launch your career-this is a great opportunity to grow your skills and work with advanced equipment.

Pay:

• Starting at $22.00/hr.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Morning Briefing & Work Orders: Review daily assignments and coordinate with supervisors or engineers on custom builds or repair projects
• Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Use hydraulic pressure gauges, electrical testers, and diesel diagnostic software to assess engine and system performance
• Mechanical Repairs & Maintenance: Conduct engine repairs, fluid changes, and component replacements. Maintain hydraulic lifts, couplers, and traction systems
• Assembly & Customization: Assemble specialized rail equipment, install diesel engines and control systems, and customize configurations based on client needs
• Testing & Quality Control: Perform road and rail testing to ensure safety and functionality
• Documentation & Reporting: Track parts usage, record labor hours, and maintain service logs
• Safety & Compliance: Follow OSHA guidelines and wear PPE; handle hazardous materials per regulations

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of diesel mechanic experience or recent graduate from a trade school program
• Comfortable using diagnostic tools (training and tools provided)
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints
• Must consistently wear required PPE
• Certification from a trade or technical school
• Pneumatic system knowledge
• Experience working with heavy-duty mining or industrial equipment
