Wabtec has been driving progress for over 150 years, delivering advanced solutions across freight and transit rail, mining, marine, and industrial sectors. We are looking for a Mechanic to join our Arcola Operations team and contribute to our continued success.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $28.00/hr. (Depending on experience)

Responsibilities:



  • Clean, assemble, and align parts, sub-assemblies, and complete machines
  • Plan assembly and wiring sequences; perform basic electrical work
  • Lubricate, maintain, and repair machinery as needed
  • Operate hand tools and equipment safely; use jib crane when required
  • Spray paint parts and prepare machinery for shipping
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Assist with special projects as assigned



Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school/college courses may substitute for experience
  • 3+ years of mechanical experience
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Skilled with hand tools and basic electrical wiring
  • Knowledge of air arcing, gas cutting, and plasma cutting
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
  • Good manual dexterity, communication, and vision (correctable)
  • Overtime availability required
