What this job involves - The Facilities Engineer will assist Engineering Staff and the site Facilities Manager in the operational activities of technical services, maintenance and operations, vendor management, finance, contracts and procurement, project management and occupancy services.

What is the day to day?

  • Understand the operational & technical requirements of the site and ensure that current service agreement is maintained to provide necessary supplies and services.
  • Completing or supervising monthly Preventative Maintenance and field modifications. Overseeing basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair on designated equipment throughout the office and lap spaces in a high-rise, life science building.
  • Work side by side with the system owner / engineer regarding the operation and maintenance of the Client's High Purity Water systems, industrial wastewater pH balancing system, various HVAC, auxiliary systems and electrical.
  • Ordering and managing repair parts cycle times. Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring they are well maintained. Maintain equipment records in CMMS (Maximo).
  • Establish Engineering and Operational procedures and roll out for site staff. Implement existing and new energy management programs to reduce the cost on utilities.
  • Ensure proper engineering documentation and adherence to the client's established change management controls.
  • Perform all work using the proper safety equipment and in a safe manner.
  • Maintaining daily communications with client to ensure resolution and proper follow-up on arising issues. Meeting Health Safety and Environment (HSE) and/or all other applicable regulatory / safety requirements on client's premises.
  • Attending site walk with management and client on weekly and monthly basis (Safety Champion Walk, Quality Audit Walk, Internal EHS site walk, etc.)
  • Ensure alignment and compliance to established policies and standard operating procedures for the management of the client's critical environment monitoring (CEM).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation, excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance and operation of building automation systems, water treatment, HVAC, electrical and fire life safety systems.
  • Proficient level of computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment. Resourceful, with the ability to work independently and maintain strong time management skills.
  • Massachusetts Industrial Wastewater License (Industrial, Grade 2) or ability to obtain through JLL within six months from start date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Universal CFC Certification

Work Environment/Shift

  • Monday - Friday, day hours
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk long distances to cover campus
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

126,500.00 - 165,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
