Regional Investment Manager Research & Strategy Leader

The Investment Management and Research (IMR) group is responsible for developing investment solutions for clients working alongside the regional teams, who are responsible for client service and distribution of investment solutions. The Regional Investment Manager Research & Strategy Leader (IMR&SL) will coordinate with UK/EMEA [or NA] Investment leadership on research and product priorities to ensure alignment and effectiveness, whilst ensuring adherence to Global Investment Views. The IMR&SL will report to the Global Chief Investment Officer and will also have a strong connection to the align to Regional Investment Leader.

What the day will look like

  • Ensure the best ideas move forward in model/client portfolios and Aon funds, enhancing investment outcomes.
  • Implement global and regional business priorities, ensuring consistency and strategic alignment across all asset classes, and that these are well understood across the regional IMR teams.
  • Have an active presence and visibility in the industry and with asset managers, recognised as an expert and sought out for opinion and thought leadership. Be a role model across the regional and global IMR team for external profile and presence and grow others to develop this capability.
  • Present research findings to stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
  • Develop the UK and EMEA research priorities in close collaboration with UK and EMEA investment business leadership as well as supporting global initiatives.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of investment strategies including fixed Income, equities, private and/or alternatives markets.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the investment team based on research findings and external market activity.
  • Develop and implement research strategies that align with the firm's investment objectives.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to optimize investment strategies and performance.
  • Act as coach and role model for the wider regional and global IMR team.
  • Drive engagement and development of the regional IMR team, ensuring alignment to Aon's strategy, connection to regional Investment team, and fostering career paths and growth in partnership with Asset Class leaders and People Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in all research activities.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in investment research, with a focus on Fixed Income.
  • Proven track record of leading research teams, delivering high-quality investment insights, and motivating, engaging and developing teams.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets and instruments within the UK/EMEA region and globally.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic and matrixed environment. Ability to lead through influence.
  • CFA or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable.
