Risk Analyst (Data Risk)

Overview

Responsible for supporting the operation of the risk function by evaluating and analyzing risks of varying complexity and for identifying and implementing approaches and solutions to mitigate those risks. May have a focus on one or more particular types of risk such as financial, or operational, risk and may provide advice to management based on this knowledge base. Typically requires an individual a professional qualification in one or more areas of risk management or its equivalent. Growing an understanding of business needs and objectives. Solve a range of mostly straightforward problems with some increased scope and complexity. Developing professional with basic skill set and proficiency with procedures and techniques.

Responsibilities

* Plan the research for and development of specialized risk assessment scopes
* Collaborate with management and personnel to optimize risk assessment scope development
* Identify potential business risks, operational and regulatory process deficiencies and improvement opportunities
* Gather and synthesize data; present conclusions and offer risk mitigation, remediation and process improvement solutions to management
* Lead/conduct and provide expertise with the administration of specialized risk assessment and testing lifecycles of business activities, processes, policies and procedures for operational effectiveness and compliance with regulatory requirements, federal and state laws, and Navy Federal's quality control standards, policies and procedures
* Monitor and report data governance practices and controls to ensure alignment to internal instructions, standards, and procedures.
* Data risk identification and management - Identify, remediate, and track data governance risks, issues and events.
* Address data lifecycle and data quality management. validation, data produced, data consumed, and data shared

Qualifications

* Experience with documentation and /or validation of Critical Data Elements, Data Quality and Metadata
* Understanding of data dictionaries, data catalogs ad data lineage
* Basic understanding of business and operating environment
* Knowledge and understanding of risk-based auditing techniques and methodologies
* Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations, company policies, and industry best practices
* Experience with project management skills
* Knowledge of operational and regulatory risk controls concepts and practices
* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Auditing, or related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience

Desired Qualifications

* Master's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
* Experience with data risk
* Experience with testing and controls

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
