Key Areas of Responsibilities:



  • Strategic Planning and Management:
  • Develop and implement facility management strategies aligned with organizational goals. Plan and manage facility operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Financial Management:
    Oversee facility budgets, optimize costs, and forecast financial needs. Ensure fiscal discipline and provide transparent financial reporting.
  • Maintenance and Repairs:
    Manage the maintenance and repair of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.). Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building regulations.
  • Space Management:
    Plan and allocate office space to optimize usage. Coordinate office moves and renovations.
  • Vendor and Contract Management:
    Negotiate and manage contracts with service providers (cleaning, security, catering, etc.). Oversee the performance of external contractors.
  • Health and Safety:
    Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Implement and manage emergency response plans.
  • Sustainability and Efficiency:
    Promote sustainable practices and energy efficiency within the facility. Implement initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of operations.
  • Team Management:
    Supervise and support Workplace Coordinator role. Provide training and development opportunities for the team.
  • Communication and Coordination:
    Liaise with other corporate departments to ensure facility needs are met. Communicate effectively with stakeholders about facility-related issues.
  • Promote and support our Workplace Strategy Program - a hospitality-oriented, data-driven strategy focused on enabling the success of individuals and the teams who utilize our space.
  • Oversee and improve facilities management initiatives to optimize resources and maintain a safe, efficient, and high-touch workplace environment.
  • Establish and enforce workplace objectives, policies, and operating procedures to ensure a seamless and efficient work environment. Includes overseeing facility exception requests for assigned seats and work through appropriate approvals; monitor utilization.
  • Support location-specific events that bring employees together and create a sense of community.
  • Oversee new construction and retrofitting projects; along with moves, adds, and changes.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure facility needs are met. Communicate effectively with stakeholders about facility-related issues.
  • Create authoritative floor plans, summary of types of space, seat counts, space usage (seat assignments/hoteling) for each facility
  • Assist Data Analytics team with automation of PowerBI dashboards as it relates to space utilization efforts
  • Assist with implementation of new workplace sensors/reporting (Germantown and Dulles)
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for all emergency preparedness activities, including the development, implementation, and regular updating of comprehensive emergency plans and onsite equipment such as fire extinguishers, AED, first aid, etc.
  • A willingness to travel, as needed, to other AV facilities for training, team building, program implementation or adoption. This person is expected to be a change champion and may be asked to implement policy and procedure changes relative to facility management and operations at locations across the portfolio.


    Basic Qualifications



    • 5+ years of experience in facilities management/operations with experience managing buildings and facilities services
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential in this role, along with an ability to communicate to senior leadership confidently and succinctly on evaluations, recommendations, and outcomes.
    • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, successfully execute multiple projects, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.
    • A highly organized, results-oriented individual with ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented, and collaborative environment will be required.
    • Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment or identify appropriate sub-contractors where required to ensure safe, reliable and continuous operations within AV facilities.
    • Availability for on-call or emergency services after hours, or on weekends, as needed.
    • Must be proficient with basic computer skills and possess broad knowledge and capabilities working with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with other programs such as PowerBI would be ideal.


    Desired



    • An associate degree or bachelor's degree is preferred.
    • 5 years of experience in Business Operations and Vendor Management preferred
    • Completion of professional certifications and continuing education programs such as PMP, MCR, CFM, etc. is desired.


    Salary Range: $75-$90k

    The BlueHalo, an AV Company, pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several factors including, but not limited to, level of position, job responsibilities, geographic location, scope of relevant work experience, educational background, certifications, contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, alignment with local internal equity as well as alignment with market data.
