This role is responsible for designing high-quality, scalable educational programs aligned to national standards and workforce development priorities. The Developer defines clear educational outcomes and deliverables that support internal stakeholders in fundraising and sponsorship to meet revenue goals tied to program expansion but does not hold direct sales or fundraising responsibilities. The Developer also engages volunteers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and advisory groups to ensure programs are relevant, inclusive, and impactful.

 Managing and leading the AutoDrive Challenge and continued development of the CivicProgress Challenge portion of the University Programs portfolio will be the focus of this specific position.
 Essential Functions  1. Program Strategy & Development 
 Lead development and continuous improvement of STEM education programs across PreK-16.Create scalable and sustainable program models aligned with accreditation frameworks and educational standards (e.g., NGSS, CSTA, CTE).Extend or evolve existing programs to meet emerging industry and classroom needs. 2. Curriculum & Instructional Content 
 Design hands-on curriculum, student learning experiences, and educator training that align to best pedagogical practices.Ensure accessibility, inclusion, and digital readiness across all content.Embed workforce-aligned competencies and pathways into high school and postsecondary offerings. 3. Define Educational Deliverables & Outcomes 
 Establish measurable learning outcomes and impact indicators (e.g., student reach, skills gained, teacher training hours).Provide program data and narratives to support internal use in fundraising, sponsorship, and reporting.Design programs to be evaluation-ready, with built-in tools for data collection and analysis. 4. Volunteer & SME Coordination 
 Recruit, onboard, and manage volunteers and subject matter experts involved in curriculum design, judging, training, or content validation.Facilitate advisory groups and working committees to ensure programs reflect real-world relevance and educational rigor.Provide structure and support to ensure high-impact volunteer contributions. 5. Workforce Development Integration 
 Align educational programming with mobility sector workforce needs and skills frameworks.Collaborate with industry and academic partners to embed career-connected learning into PreK-16 pathways.Support initiatives that connect technical education (e.g., community colleges, CTE) to SAE's broader education mission. 6. Budgeting & Operational Planning 
 Develop and manage program budgets (up to $3M), ensuring financial sustainability.Coordinate with Enablement and Delivery teams to support implementation readiness and resource alignment. 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration 
 Partner with Enablement, Sales, and Foundation teams to ensure programs are structured for delivery and external promotion.Provide educational insight and strategic direction during early-stage ideation, grant proposal development, and internal planning. Minimum Requirements 
 Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related field6+ years of experience in education, curriculum development, or instructional design 
 Strong knowledge of curriculum standards, instructional best practices, and program designExperience leading volunteers, SMEs, and advisory groupsUnderstanding of workforce development and career-connected learning modelsAbility to define, measure, and report on educational outcomesExcellent project management, collaboration, and communication skillsAbility to manage complex initiatives across multiple teams Preferred Qualifications
