Your Job Koch Methanol St. James is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Reliability team for the summer. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the reliability, integrity, and safety of assets in a world-class chemical manufacturing facility. This role provides exposure to real engineering challenges while developing problem-solving and technical skills in a dynamic environment. Our Team As part of Koch Ag & Energy Solutions, Koch Methanol produces and supplies methanol - a key ingredient in everyday products such as clothing, cosmetics, paints, adhesives, and fuels. What You Will Do During your internship, you may: Assist with root cause analyses of fixed and rotating equipment issues and help identify potential solutions. Collect and organize reliability data for key assets. Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical equipment. Learn how to apply industry standards and best practices in equipment inspections. Shadow engineers during project reviews, inspections, and maintenance planning activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including maintenance, operations, and engineering. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Enrolled in a degree or alternative program. (e.g., 4 year college program, 2 year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program, etc.) Currently pursuing a degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field. Eligible for full-time employment before or by May 2028. Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) What Will Put You Ahead Previous internship, co-op, or project experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Familiarity with engineering codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI). Interest in reliability engineering, maintenance, or process safety. Physical Requirements Ability to wear PPE in designated areas.
