Primary Purpose of the Organization: |
The primary goal of the
Office of Admission at Fayetteville State University is to attract and enroll a diverse student body that represents a wide range of geographic, religious, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. To do so, the Office of Admission will work closely with alumni and other constituencies to support recruitment efforts while promoting excellent customer service & transparency about the admission process. |
Primary Purpose of the Position: |
The Admissions Processor supports the Office of Admissions in recruiting and admitting a diverse student body to Fayetteville State University. This role ensures the smooth flow of the application process, updating and managing applicant files through systems like
NOLIJ and
SCT Banner and ensuring all materials are accurately processed for counselor review. The Admissions Processor helps maintain high standards of customer service and accurate communication with prospective students and stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Application Processor:
Receive and process application materials, updating files in
NOLIJ and
SCT Banner. Ensure student credentials match applications and that data is available for admissions counselors. Maintain application system updates (residency, admissions decisions, etc.). Respond to inquiries from students, parents, and counselors about admissions processes and university programs. Coordinate the purging of old files and prepare materials for counselors. Communicate with admissions staff regarding system issues and applicant status.
Communication - Verbal & Written:
Receive and process any material related to applicant files, ensuring that all information is loaded to the database, correctly coded, and shared with university systems upon admission. Confirms receipt of documents via the online customer relation system. Answer the telephones, relaying information to inquirers about the application, status updates and deadlines as requested. Address walk-in guests.
Work Coordination:
Responsible for processing both undergraduate and graduate applications in the
NOLIJ system and moving through to Banner upon completion.
Ensure that materials received reach the appropriate applicant file. Purge old files at the end of each cycle.
Problem Solving:
Upload applications and associated materials to Banner from the
NOLIJ system, ensuring that the data shared is accurate and up to date. Work with the registrar's office and IT to resolve issues. Responsible for addressing error reports related to data imports from various departments.

Other duties assigned by the supervisor and/or department/division leadership.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: |
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Knowledge skills and abilities: |
Experience with
CRM systems and complex data entry.
Strong time management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently on detailed projects. |
