Job Summary

As a Property & Materials Specialist Senior with Auxiliary Services at Maricopa Community Colleges, this role keeps the District Office operations running smoothly. Responsibilities include managing mail services, overseeing printing, copying, document archiving, and responding to inquiries, all while ensuring a seamless flow of day-to-day tasks.

The Property & Materials Specialist Senior position works closely with colleagues and customers across the district, building positive relationships and delivering outstanding service. It also supports the organization by safeguarding resources, tracking, and managing important equipment through an automated property accounting system. This role is in a fast-paced environment and on a team that values teamwork and takes pride in making a meaningful contribution to the college community.

Essential Functions

25% - Receives and responds to inquiries related to property accounting policies, procedures, and regulations; makes recommendations regarding procedural or system changes and updates
25% - Determines property value, assists with surplus property sales, and recommends equipment disposal methods
15% - Identifies, records, and accounts for fixed or capital assets, including equipment, land, buildings, and improvements, utilizing an automated property accounting system
10% - Evaluates and reconciles capital project and physical equipment inventories, capital asset additions, and expenditures
10% - Provides program support and coordination of administrative details for surplus property allocation
10% - Supports the operations of a copy center, copy/print jobs, mailroom, mail/postage duties, shipping, and receiving
5% - Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and four years of experience providing general operational support in assignments such as copy/imaging centers, mailrooms, and/or shipping/receiving centers.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Experience receiving and accurately logging in packages
  2. Experience receiving, organizing, and preparing surplus property for auction.
  3. Experience working with professional auctioneers and the public
  4. Familiarity with enterprise-level capital asset accounting systems.
  5. Prior experience sorting and delivering mail.
  6. Prior experience using production photocopiers to produce and accurately bill for copy jobs.


Special Working Conditions

This position can require frequent standing and lifting. It also requires frequent work in an environment without air conditioning or heat.

May be required to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
