RHD Glassport LTSR is a long-term structured residential program serving eligible adult males between the ages 18 to 65 who are residents of Allegheny County and have been diagnosed with serious mental illness and substance use disorder, or dually-diagnosed with an intellectual disability. Residents may also have a forensic history. Psych rehabilitation worker will work under the direction of the psych rehab specialist to assist participants to choose, acquire, and maintain the skills they need to successfully transition in from using skills-based and strength-based techniques. PRW will work in collaboration with program therapists, psych rehab facilitator and residents to assist with the implementation of psych rehab plan of care to increase client skill levels through group facilitation and individualized psych rehab activities. Duties and responsibilities
Qualifications HS diploma/ GED minimum, bachelor's preferred. Minimum of 6 months direct care experience with clients with mental health, substance abuse or forensic issues. Knowledge/Skills * Psychiatric Rehabilitation principals * Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with staff and participants. * Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. * Demonstrate good organizational and time-management skills. * Able to support and implement RHD and unit values and beliefs. * Able to engage residents in an effective, therapeutic and recovery-oriented interactions.
