The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University's Online Academic Support Center is looking for a Part-Time Online Academic Coach. The Academic Coach supports student learning skills in the SNHU Global Campus online learning environment.

This is a remote friendly position (#LI-Remote). You will report to the Manager of Academic Support.

You'll get to:

  • Support dispositional and learning skills development at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
  • Engage in relationship-based student coaching to support the growth of transferable learning and executive function skills through synchronous 1:1 and small group sessions.
  • Work with groups of students through dedicated, short-term, small group facilitation that fosters learning through peer collaboration, social-emotional learning environments, and confidence-building.
  • Lead program specific workshops to support a range of academic and executive functioning skills.
  • Support neuro-divergent learning differences due to dyslexia, ADHD, autism, anxiety disorders, and PTSD.
  • Participate in learning resource-building; for example, creation of videos and static resources to support time management and other skills
  • Positively impact the success of online students by promoting engaging learning experiences.
  • Develop an understanding of university supports and resources.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all student records and information shared during tutoring sessions.
  • Manage caseloads, maintain documentation, and track student progress in coaching plans.
  • You may have other responsibilities as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Master's degree in psychology, education, special education or related field.
  • Two+ years of experience supporting adult learners in higher education.
  • Strong emotional intelligence skills.
  • Familiarity with online meeting platforms.
  • Quiet work environment with reliable hard-wired internet access.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfort level with learning new online systems and technologies.
  • Experience supporting neuro-divergent learners.
  • Knowledgeable of learning behaviors and executive function skills.
  • Night and weekend availability based on business needs.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $24.81 - $39.71. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $27.42 - $37.10.
