Essential Job Duties |
The Office of International Services is seeking to fill a temporary position as Immigration Specialist. This role will be for approximately 25 hours/week.
Duties:
- Assist Advisors as needed with international student processes in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), including form issuance, review, and verification of data, authorization or recommendation of appropriate benefits, e.g., employment, under the supervision and direction of OIS leadership
- Primarily responsible for Optional Practical Training (OPT) and STEM OPT document processing, including tracking, reviewing, and submitting required compliance reporting, reviewing for completeness the I-983 training plan for STEM OPT, tracking and reporting STEM OPT validations and annual reviews, and processing other reporting requirements for students engaged in Optional Practical Training
- Complete, process, and issue visa certificates for F-1 students; sign documents for travel, replace or re-issue documents when needed
- Maintain accurate records and notes in Sunapsis data system.
- Provide general information to international students via email or other communication methods (such as updating webpages or preparing content for newsletters)
- Participate in OIS staff meeting, policy, and case review sessions
- Assist with other projects as needed and/or assigned

Minimum Experience/Education |
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
