Job Description

KOMU 8 is a full-powered NBC and CW affiliate proudly owned by the University of Missouri serving the Columbia-Jefferson City, MO market. It is the only network affiliated television station with a dual mission of informing the public and serving as the premier training ground for television journalists with the prestigious Missouri School of Journalism.

The Support Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure at KOMU 8, including servers, networks, and software. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of all technology systems supporting the station's operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure.
- Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Monitor and maintain system security, ensuring compliance with software licensing and university IT policies.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Technology and Broadcast Engineering, as well as IT teams across the University of Missouri campus, to support integrated systems and shared resources.
- Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures to support continuity and compliance.

Shift

Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11pm
Flexibility is required, including availability for occasional weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts as operational needs arise.

Minimum Qualifications

-Broad technical expertise in LAN, desktop/workstation hardware, software, operating systems, and connectivity.

-Strong IT skills, including systems administration, security principles, enterprise management technologies (Windows and Macintosh), Active Directory, Exchange, and storage systems.

-Excellent troubleshooting abilities across networks, network topologies, file servers, and applicable software.

-Working knowledge of current operating systems, including both server and desktop environments.

-Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with users and technical staff.

-Ability to diagnose and adapt in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired. Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Prefer experience with:

- Imagine Communications master control automation/playout

- Ross Overdrive automation

- BitCentral news production/playout

- Adobe Premiere

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $52,915.20 - $82,000/year Commensurate with experience
