Videographer/Photographer Specialist

The Videographer/Photographer Specialist supports organizational multimedia needs by planning, producing, and delivering high-quality video and photography content. This role collaborates with creative staff, communications teams, and project leads to ensure products meet project goals, accessibility requirements, and branding standards.

Essential Duties:



  • Work closely with creative staff and relevant departments to develop and produce multimedia for projects to suit stated goals and needs, communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders and in a virtual/remote environment.
  • Support development of video and audio projects, including concepting, research, scripting, logistics coordination, budget development, and asset development or compilation.
  • Support production of video and audio projects, including field production (in studio, in field, or online), interviewing, and shooting video or taking still photos as needed.
  • Support post-production of video and audio projects, including post-producing with the edit team, peer reviews, coordinating transcriptions and captioning, ingesting and logging footage, and basic editing as needed.
  • Support overall project management of video and audio projects, including tracking project status, reporting, and archiving.
  • Capture studio portraits, ensuring proper lighting, composition, and professional presentation.
  • Photograph government events, ceremonies, and live activities with quick turnaround for distribution.
  • Produce high-quality stock imagery to support communication, training, and digital media needs.
  • Maintain and operate studio lighting setups, backdrops, and related photography equipment.
  • Edit, retouch, and prepare images for print, digital platforms, and official use.
  • Organize and maintain a digital image library with proper metadata and archiving standards.
  • Work closely with communications staff, designers, and project leads to meet visual content needs.
  • Ensure all work complies with organizational and federal guidelines, including accessibility and branding standards.


Required Qualifications



  • B.A./B.S in relevant field
  • 8 years of relevant experience, including previous multimedia, video, and audio production
  • Proven experience in portrait, event, and live-action photography (5+ years preferred).
  • Proficiency with professional DSLR and mirrorless camera systems (e.g., Canon EOS R series, Nikon Z series, or Sony Alpha).
  • Strong knowledge of studio lighting equipment (strobes, continuous lights, softboxes, umbrellas, reflectors).
  • Skilled in photo editing and post-production using industry-standard software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe Bridge (for cataloging).
  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems (DAM) and metadata tagging.
  • Understanding of image resolution, formats, and color correction for both print and digital platforms.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and high visibility.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
