EHS and Sustainability Intern

Position Summary: The EHS/Sustainability Intern focuses their work on real-world projects that support our mission to reduce environmental impact and promote a safe, healthy workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in tracking and analyzing sustainability metrics.
  • Support the implementation of green initiatives across facilities.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Help develop training materials and presentations on sustainability and EHS topics.
  • Participate in environmental reporting and documentation (e.g., air, water, waste).
  • Research best practices and emerging trends in sustainability and EHS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on sustainability campaigns and employee engagement.
  • Participate on the safety committee
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma/GED-General Studies
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.

Experience:

  • Strong interest in sustainability and environmental stewardship.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analysis tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential material strictly in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • To be able to perform daily tasks safely; To work independently with limited supervision; To deal tactfully with many people with varied personalities.

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Walking is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift 10 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner (results oriented); Ability to make decisions with limited information.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. This position may require one to move throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding/ Precision Machining shop.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
