Job Description

Pay: $24/hour

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8-5 occasional weekend or evening hours. Hybrid work opportunity.

Full-Time position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long Term Disability, and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings. JOB SUMMARY:

The Coordinator I, Job Development - Digital Skills, will assist the Digital Skills program students in finding employment. The Job Development Coordinator will assist students one-on-one with resume building and mock interviewing and work with Instructor to provide tailored job leads to clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Job Development of Employment Opportunities:



  • The Job Development Coordinator will assist and motivate Digital Skills students, using guided choice strategies to find appropriate employment using job leads, Connecting Colorado, Career Dreamer, and other resources. The Coordinator is responsible for providing services and maintaining effective communication with Goodwill of Colorado's staff or case-managing clients referred for services.


Tracking, Documenting, and Reporting:



  • The Job Development Coordinator will maintain accurate records of client participation and jobs obtained, utilizing direct contacts, collateral contacts, and other means to obtain information. The incumbent will maintain confidentiality at all levels.


Relationship Management:



  • The Job Development Coordinator will communicate in a timely manner and keep the Program Manager and Digital Skills Instructor informed of progress, considerations, and pertinent information. The incumbent will assist with special projects, serve on committees, and attend all pertinent staff and other meetings as required. The Job Development Coordinator will deal effectively and calmly with non-routine situations following accepted guidelines and perform other duties as required by the Program Manager and/or Supervisor.
  • Serves as a primary source of information and resources for participants about programs and job opportunities in the community.


Research and Industry Awareness:



  • While maintaining current knowledge and awareness of labor trends, the Job Development Coordinator will demonstrate a higher level of understanding and have the ability to report discrepancies and areas of emphasis needed. The incumbent will have a working knowledge of services available through, and all classes offered at Goodwill of Colorado. The Job Development Coordinator must research and keep updated by reading trade journals as needed to be aware of trends, theories, or initiatives within the employment/job placement industry.


Direct Client Support:



  • The Job Development Coordinator will work with clients one-on-one to provide resume assistance and mock interviewing practice.
  • The Job Development Coordinator will provide tailored job leads to clients through collaboration with the Digital Skills Instructor and provide weekly job leads to students.
  • The Job Development Coordinator will assist the Digital Skills Instructor by assessing with Google Career Dreamer and through other job development efforts based on individual student goals.


Communication:



  • Using the Platinum rule: Treating the participants in a manner the participant would like to be treated.
  • Clear, transparent, and collaborative manner of speaking.
  • Confidentiality is of the utmost importance. Keeping confidentiality regarding the agency, client records and all information.
  • Focusing on long- and short-term goals using motivational interviewing to support each participant to successfully move in a self-sufficient pathway.
  • Treating others with the utmost respect; including respectful verbiage, tone of voice and body language.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • A Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, and/or related field is preferred.


Experience:



  • Four (4) years of work experience in the same or related field will be considered.


Other:



  • The incumbent must have a working knowledge of career development processes, strategies, and community resources and must have a good awareness of the Colorado Springs area.
  • The incumbent must be personable, present self in a professional manner, and have the ability to interact with diverse customers (students, employers, referral sources, and business-to-business) in order to build sound working relationships.
  • The incumbent must be a self-starter, demonstrating the ability to stay focused and disciplined while being flexible to the demands of the job. In addition, the incumbent must possess effective written and oral communication skills and meet reporting deadlines.
  • The Job Development Coordinator must also conduct themself in a professional manner and maintain a professional appearance that enhances the firm's reputation.
  • The incumbent must be able to work effectively as a team member and able to speak effectively to various sized groups.
  • Overtime may be required when necessary and on-call when needed for emergencies.
  • The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*.


*Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:



  • 19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
  • 25 - 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
  • 21 years of age for CDL.


Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.

Applicants/employees using their personal vehicle for company business (receiving company mileage reimbursement), must have valid vehicle insurance, valid driver license, and vehicle must be in roadworthy condition.
