Daikin Applied is seeking a Product Engineer III who will be responsible for engineering aspects of products released to production after initial design development, including design of special order and customized products, maintenance and minor additions to existing products. What you will do:



  • Provide imaginative and thorough solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • Give advice, analyze information and provide technical guidance within a specific function for others within the organization, including Marketing, Applications, Manufacturing, and Aftermarket
  • Design modifications to standard products for specific customer needs, to an acceptable quality, performance, safety, and cost standard
  • For substantial special design modification projects, support project management as technical lead, coordinating activities of drafting, purchasing, agency approval, and manufacturing to assure on-time shipment of product that meets customer expectations
  • Oversee the design of components and test fixtures as required in testing and qualification of new concepts or supplier components
  • Assist in various Cost Improvement Goals, proposing new ideas and initiating cost reduction and product improvement effort to increase overall value of product
  • Provide timely resolution of field service problems using sound engineering judgment. Assure corrective actions to unit design are taken as required
  • Take on project management responsibilities and work on business process improvement projects
  • Keep current on product and component technology improvements and industry trends to effectively perform functions of the position
  • Investigate engineering/manufacturing issues related to assembly of product and take corrective action to prevent recurrence of problems
  • Develop tools to measure, monitor, and improve product bill of material accuracy and product throughput in the plant
  • Maintain agency and regulatory approval status (UL, CRN, ASME, KHK, CE, etc.)
  • Maintain product documentation to assure engineering documentation, drafting documentation, and product are consistent

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree (Technical, Scientific, Engineering)
  • 5-6 years of related experience Requires broad knowledge of principles and practices of HVAC engineering industry
  • PC skills including Microsoft office applications
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Solid Project Management experience
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $90,400k -$147,400K + up to 10% in MN .The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
