This role requires deep expertise in Tableau and Power BI development, paired with expertise in user experience design. You'll craft solutions that are technically robust, scalable, and sustainable-while captivating users with intuitive, beautiful visualizations that make insights immediately accessible. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: Advanced Analytics Mastery
  • Design enterprise-scale Tableau and Power BI solutions with sophisticated calculations, predictive modeling integrations, and embedded analytics frameworks.
  • Optimize analytics performance through data source design, extract optimization, workbook performance tuning, and server capacity management.
  • Pioneer advanced analytics & machine learning capabilities including statistical forecasting, clustering analysis, and recommendation engines within BI platforms.
  • Implement and maintain analytics governance frameworks, including permissions management, content certification, and data lineage.
  • Establish design patterns and dimensional models for optimal BI performance.
  • Implement real-time and near-real-time analytics solutions using live connections and extract refresh strategies.
  • Establish performance monitoring and alerting frameworks for BI platforms and data sources.
  • Drive technical innovation through evaluation of new analytics features, cloud services, and third-party integrations.
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise security, compliance, and data governance requirements.
Collaborator Partnership
  • Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions and solution design workshops with business users and Digital partners.
  • Communicate technical concepts and constraints to non-technical audiences through clear documentation and presentations.
  • Provide technical expertise during case development and solution scoping initiatives.
Team Technical Guidance
  • Provide technical mentorship and solution review oversight for junior and mid-level analytics team members and self-service business users.
  • Lead technical reviews and establish development standards and procedures for Tableau and Power BI.
  • Drive adoption of DevOps practices for BI development including version control, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
  • Conduct technical knowledge transfer sessions and create comprehensive documentation for sophisticated solutions.
YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or related technical field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related technical roles.
  • Experience working in enterprise environments with complex data landscapes and governance requirements.
  • Tableau Mastery: Expert-level experience in Tableau Server/Cloud administration, including site management, user provisioning, security implementation, and performance optimization.
  • Advanced Tableau Development: Proven track record developing complex Tableau solutions with advanced calculations, LOD expressions, custom visualizations, and performance optimization.
  • Power BI Proficiency: Proven experience with Power BI Service administration and development including DAX, data modeling, and integration capabilities.
  • Snowflake Experience: Practical experience with Snowflake data warehouse including SQL development, performance optimization, and Tableau integration.
  • SQL Server Proficiency: Advanced SQL development skills with experience in database design, stored procedures, performance tuning, and SSAS/SSIS/SSRS.
  • Technical Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading technical delivery efforts, providing mentorship, standards, and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrable ability to work directly with business users, gathering requirements, and translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Documentation & Training: Experience creating user documentation, training materials, and knowledge transfer programs.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with experience resolving complex technical issues across multiple platforms.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with Scrum, Kanban, or other agile development methodologies in analytics contexts.
  • Ideally, expert-level Power BI development including advanced DAX, custom visuals, embedded analytics, and Power BI Premium features.
  • Ideally, Python or similar experience for advanced analytics and automation
  • Experience with data governance: data catalog solutions, lineage tracking, and metadata management platforms preferred.
  • Specialized experience in analytics performance tuning, extract optimization, and server capacity planning preferred.
  • Experience implementing enterprise security frameworks, data privacy controls, and regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Tableau Server Certified Associate, Tableau Desktop Specialist, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, or similar relevant certifications preferred.

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$89,300.00 - $165,800.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
