Project Engineer - Doors, Frames, Hardware
Location: Amarillo, TX, United States (and additional project locations)
Employment Type: Full-time, onsite
Salary: $88K-$121K DOE
Key Responsibilities
Prepare subcontract work scope packages and manage vendor coordination
Organize and maintain cost structures for assigned scopes
Prepare, monitor, and update schedules for doors, frames, and hardware installation
Support weekly work plans and lean construction methods implementation
Document schedule impacts and track scope changes
Distribute change documents to field personnel and maintain accurate records
Lead and support coordination meetings with managers, design teams, subcontractors, and client representatives
Review and interpret design drawings, specifications, and technical manuals
Process and track submittals, ensuring accuracy and integration across systems
Generate and distribute RFIs; support resolution of field coordination issues
Perform field survey layout of control lines and benchmarks as needed
Train client personnel on operation and maintenance of relevant systems
Serve as an onsite technical advisor and support field crews with constructability questions
Qualifications
Professional Experience & Education
Minimum 3 years of commercial building experience (doors, frames, hardware experience strongly preferred)
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent field experience)
Education or experience in construction materials and methods
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
Familiarity with project management tools: Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, MS Project, Primavera P6
Experience with design software: AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks
Strong ability to read and interpret design and construction documents
Knowledge of CSI specification system

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Combination of office and active construction site duties
Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs; inspect confined spaces
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and move materials short distances
Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, or twisting to review work onsite
Ability to work in proximity to loud equipment and wear hearing protection as required
Regular use of computers and productivity tools alongside field responsibilities
