*75% visual/ UI* *25% UX research* *6 Month Contract to Hire* *5 days a week onsite - Naperville, IL* *Portfolio Required - Data Visualization / UI Dashboards* *3 Step interview process - Design Challenge included* Ideal Candidate Profile: * Senior Product Designer with 7+ years experience (this role leans 75% visual, 25% research) * While financial expertise is preferred, must have demonstrated examples of data visualization and complex data sets in portfolio * Collaborative and presentation experience with product, engineering and executive leadership * Demonstration of high fidelity visual craft and design systems * Experience mentoring other designers As a Senior Product Designer at our financial services client you will play a pivotal role in designing intuitive and visually engaging user interfaces for financial tools across our digital platforms. With over 7 years of experience, you will collaborate closely with executive leadership, product managers, developers, and cross-functional teams to create designs that align with both business objectives and the needs of institutional and individual investors. Your expertise in data visualization and complex data sets (banking, wealth management, asset management preferred) will ensure that the user interfaces are not only functional and aesthetically pleasing but also meet strict business and regulatory requirements. This role requires a leader with a strong background in visual user interface design for complex, data-driven tools. You'll work directly with senior leadership to ensure our digital products deliver the highest standards of usability and design, with full visibility into organizational goals and strategies. You'll have the opportunity to create a new design system and scale it across an emerging category of financial tools, utilizing your strong visual design background and attention to craft. While this is an individual contributor role first hire, there may be opportunity to scale a lean design team over time. Primary Responsibilities: * Lead UI design strategy for financial products in partnership with leadership, product, and engineering teams. * Design clear, responsive web and mobile interfaces that meet user, business, and regulatory needs. * Build and maintain design systems for consistency across platforms. * Use research and testing to improve designs based on user feedback. * Mentor designers and ensure high-quality work. * Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to share ideas with teams and stakeholders. * Align designs with brand standards for a seamless user experience. * Promote accessibility, usability, and strong visual design. * Partner with developers to ensure accurate, efficient implementation. * Work with stakeholders to adapt designs to user needs and market trends. * Present design concepts to leadership, connecting decisions to business and user goals. Preferred Qualifications: * 7+ years product design experience with portfolio focused on complex data sets and data visualization (finance, banking, and wealth management) * Partner with executives to align design with organizational goals. * Expert in complex, data-rich, user-friendly financial platforms. * Skilled in Figma, typography, color, grids, and design trends. * Experienced in agile teams and cross-functional collaboration. * Strong communicator, influencing leadership. * Manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments. * Knowledge of front-end (HTML, CSS, JS) for design-to-code handoff. * Familiar with large-scale design systems. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $90.00/hr.
