Job Summary:

The Lead Engineer, Legacy Software Baseline, is responsible for the technical leadership, operational sustainment, and engineering support of the legacy C2SET/AFMSTT software baseline. This role ensures the continued functionality, integration, and support of all legacy models, systems, and interfaces until they are fully transitioned or retired. The Lead Engineer will work closely with the Government PM, technical, test, and fielding teams to maintain and enhance the legacy software, support exercises and events, and facilitate the transition to modernized systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and operationally sustain the legacy C2SET/AFMSTT software, including all current models, systems, and interfaces.
  • Ensure the ongoing operational sustainment of all legacy operational training, simulation, and stimulation artifacts.
  • Provide legacy Change Requests/Deficiency Reports (CR/DR) changes, GitLab ticket changes, user priorities, urgent exercise DRs, operational support, fielding changes, and exercise changes as required.
  • Maintain and update legacy documentation, technical manuals, and user guides per contract data requirements.
  • Design and architect legacy ASCCE (Air, Space, Cyberspace Constructive Environment) and Federation fielding and integration support.
  • Support the integration of legacy systems with current and future C2SET capabilities, ensuring interoperability with external federations (e.g., JLVC, JLCCTC, BLCSE)
  • Support transition engineering for all attributes marked for transition to modernized baselines.
  • Apply experience working with cloud-based services (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure) and/or RESTful architectures to support legacy system sustainment and integration.
  • Ensure legacy systems are compatible with evolving cloud and DevSecOps environments as required.
  • Apply at least 2 years of experience in military mission planning, operations, and wargaming to ensure legacy systems meet operational training requirements.
  • Apply at least 2 years of relevant experience in simulation training at various levels, particularly with Air Operations Centers (AOCs).
  • Provide technical support for exercises and events, including on-site and reach-back support as required.
  • Ensure legacy systems are available and functional for all scheduled training, exercises, and operational events.
  • Support the transition of legacy software, systems, infrastructure, and documentation to new contractors or modernized baselines.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions, briefings, and training as needed to ensure continuity of operations.

Requirements

Minimum & Desired Requirements:

  • Relevant experience developing and operationally sustaining C2SET/AFMSTT, including current models, systems, and interfaces.
  • Experience working with cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and/or RESTful architectures.
  • At least 2 years of experience in military mission planning, operations, and wargaming.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in simulation training at various levels, working with AOCs.
  • Security+ CE certification, desired.
  • Linux+ certification, desired.

Security Clearance:

  • DoD Active TOP SECRET Level Clearance Required.

Travel Requirement:

  • 33-50%, CONUS and OCONUS
