Overview
The Vermont Department of Labor exists to improve the lives of working Vermonters. The Department's Workforce Development Division administers Federal and State programs that help people experience meaningful employment by connecting them to Vermont businesses. Our programs are administered with equity, access and belonging as their driving force and compassionate, professional service as the cornerstone. The Apprenticeship Program Support Specialist will provide technical assistance and high-level customer service to employers, apprentices, intermediaries and educational institutions to ensure effective operation and expansion of the Registered Apprenticeship (RA) program. Program support will include proper registration of programs, evaluation and monitoring of program standards and maintaining program records. Successful candidate will be skilled in complex problem-solving and be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders with diverse interests. The person in this role will maintain a caseload of apprenticeship programs and will provide support through all phases of program management. Skills needed: The duty station for this position is Montpelier, but could be assigned to a regional office in other parts of Vermont. Remote work eligibility and scheduling is determined on a case-by-case basis, based on the needs of the Department, and must be consistent with State and Department policies. Who May Apply

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. Attendance at a wide range of meetings requires that private means of transportation be available and may require work outside of normal office hours. Travel to regional offices, meetings held both in and out-of- state, may be required. Extensive interaction with employers and various organization representatives. Minimum Qualifications
