Overview
Metronome is seeking a DevOps / Systems Engineer to join an AWS-based systems team. The selected candidate will work alongside technical and program management leadership to implement the next generation of desktop and web-based production and dissemination systems. This role focuses on standing up and maintaining Windows Servers in cloud environments while deploying and maintaining custom code, COTS, and GOTS applications.
Key Responsibilities
Lead systems administration and DevOps activities supporting analytics, exploitation, production, and dissemination using web, remote desktop, and cloud technologies. Build and maintain Windows server instances in AWS environments. Deploy software to development, test, and operational environments. Perform system patching, troubleshooting, and environment maintenance. Collaborate with internal/external development teams and enterprise components. Support CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps workflows, and automation. Adapt to occasional evening/weekend work (approx. twice monthly depending on mission requirements).
Active TS clearance (with ability to obtain SCI). DoD 8570-compliant certification (Security+). Cloud/Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience. Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop OS. System design and architecture (hardware, software, networking). Knowledge of custom code development and code reviews. Understanding of DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on experience with GitLab functionality, scripting, and error troubleshooting. Familiarity with RedHat OpenShift. Experience building web applications in Python. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with ArcGIS or other geospatial technologies. Advanced AWS services knowledge (CloudFormation, S3, ECS, EKS). Familiarity with AWS serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, load balancing, autoscaling). Ability to design and document system architecture diagrams. Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and RocketChat. Microsoft and/or AWS certifications.
