Job Description

Summary: Fabricates, assembles and finishes sheet metal parts from blueprints and verbal instructions, including identification and inspection of finished product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

  • Assembles parts preparatory to welding by fitting, filing, deburring, trimming to scribe line, grinding; straightens and aligns them after welding.
  • Sets up and operates all grinding equipment, expanders, and large and small band saws, hand plannish sheet metal parts.
  • Performs such typical operations as drilling, trimming, filing, grinding and assembling parts in jigs and holding fixtures involving several location points to exacting tolerances.
  • Straightens and aligns the assemblies before and after welding in order to keep parts in direct location to each other and to obtain proper contour to exacting tolerances.
  • Makes test sample piece for certification to be conducted by others before initial part is run.
  • Welds formed parts and assemblies where evenness of fit and smoothness of contour is critical.
  • Performs re-inspection stamp to parts and assemblies' indication approval or rejection and prepares paperwork as required.
  • Makes progressive and final inspection of components involving numerous precision tolerances dimension and angles that must be inspected by precision measuring instruments where no inspection jigs and / or fixtures are available.
  • Performs certified seam flange, edge, butt, fillet and lap fusion welding on various types of materials that are the same or nearly the same thickness at point of weld.
  • Performs rework, repair and other associated operations relating to the work described.
  • Follow all Senior policies and procedure.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Degree or General Education Degree; or 3 years of related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Annual Target Salary = $39,000.00

Monday - Friday 5:00am - 3:30pm
