Facilities Inspection Specialist - JLL What this job involves - Required travel: 60% to 70% to Government Client sites with adherence to policies. US citizenship is required for this position due to government contract requirements.Will play a pivotal role in transforming Government Client maintenance operations into strategic, efficient, and effective functions. This role involves implementing strategic improvements in building and equipment maintenance operations, ensuring high compliance with Government Client maintenance protocols, and enhancing facility condition scores while reducing equipment downtime. You will not perform actual maintenance or repair work themselves. Their role is to assess, plan, guide, and facilitate effective maintenance operations across their assigned facilities. What is your day to day?
Quarterly facility condition assessments evaluate infrastructure performance and identify maintenance needs across all assigned properties within the geographic area. Compliance oversight ensures adherence to Government Client policies while reporting operational issues to Facilities HQ for tracking and resolution. Maintenance standards are communicated directly with local plant leadership to ensure consistent protocol implementation across all facilities. Comprehensive action plans are developed for short-term and long-term maintenance needs, incorporating site-specific tasks, challenges, and stakeholders. Collaboration with Postal Service personnel facilitates resource coordination while guiding Plant Managers to cross-organizational resources and technical support. Monthly meetings with local leadership address ongoing maintenance challenges while facilitating internal subject matter expert collaboration for complex technical issues. Monthly reporting generates detailed technical guidance and maintenance issue documentation for management review while maintaining ongoing communication for continuous operational improvements.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of maintenance experience is required along with essential knowledge of commercial building systems and operations. Building and equipment maintenance experience of 5-10 years must include hands-on work with mechanical and electrical systems in commercial environments. Technical proficiency involves diagnosing complex issues, identifying system deficiencies, and recommending effective solutions across multiple building types and configurations. Comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and security systems is essential, supported by baseline knowledge of equipment maintenance processes. The ability to quickly learn core building systems while identifying performance gaps and accurately assessing maintenance status across diverse facilities is crucial. Strong written and oral communication skills are required along with problem-solving abilities and effective stakeholder engagement at all organizational levels. Strategic management capabilities must include cross-organizational coordination, adaptability to changing requirements, and alignment with Government Client goals and objectives.
