Job Summary

The Employee Relations (ER) Manager is a self-motivated, trusted advisor who operates with a high level of integrity and earns the confidence of stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The ER Manager serves as a subject matter expert on employee relations who engages with management and employees to provide guidance and education on company policies, programs, and procedures. This role is responsible for managing investigations and complex workplace concerns while offering sound recommendations leading to an effective resolution. The ER Manager must maintain a balanced and impartial viewpoint and may also be called upon to support crisis management and labor relations activities.

Responsibilities

* Partner to ER team, HRBPs, HR COEs, Legal, and other stakeholders to resolve a broad range of employee issues, including progressive discipline, performance management, involuntary separations, and litigation matters.
* Provides support to people managers through effective employee relations management, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and alignment with company policies and AUSA's broader people strategy.
* Conducts complex investigations on a wide range of sensitive issues; prepares written analyses and reports as well as guidance and recommendations for resolution.
* Delivers regular coaching and training to employees and managers on policies and guidelines to support fair and consistent decision-making.
* Provides guidance on leave, accommodation, and disability policies and processes, partnering closely with the Leave and Accommodation team.
* Recommends and implements process improvements to enhance the overall effectiveness of the ER function.
* Collaborates with ER leadership to track and refine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and address root causes.
* Assesses risk in partnership with ER leadership and proposes effective solutions to complex employee issues.
* Collaborates with ER colleagues on ER matters and investigations for consistency, to share best practices, and identify trends.
* Partners with the Legal team regarding complex ER cases, particularly on matters with potentially significant organizational exposure.
* Partners with HR colleagues across functions to ensure alignment and positive employee experience.
* Partners with the Labor Relations team on matters covered by collective bargaining agreements.
* Provides recommendations to the policy and practices as well as recommended revisions to address recurring issues and trends.
* Maintains reliable mode of transportation for an occasional on-site visit, as needed.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
* 5-7 years of directly related employee relations experience required.
* 3-5 years of management experience required.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in New York is $102,816.00 - $146,880.00 / year. For other locations, please inquire with your recruiter. The rates/ranges provided herein are the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and do not reflect future job opportunity.
