Job Description

The Data Analytics Senior Consultant II is responsible for leveraging data and analytics to answer complex questions and influence business strategy through communication of findings to senior management. The position is also responsible for developing standards of practice around data retrieval, automation, data manipulation, data reporting and data analytics and visualization. The Technology Business Management (TBM) team plays a critical role in delivering data-driven insights that inform technology investment decisions. At the core of this function is the Apptio platform, which requires advanced data analytics skills to maintain, optimize, and deliver high-quality reporting. To ensure quality reporting, it will be important to have technical acumen, financial understanding, and data interpretation skills to support the Apptio platform and broader TBM goals to drive insights and identify cost optimization opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compiles, cleans, organizes and analyzes complex data to understand business results utilizing Copilot and data sources coming from Microsoft Fabric.

  • Makes the business insights derived from data analytics accessible to those without technical skills

  • Utilizes data and analytics expertise to coach and develop less experienced analysts

  • Provides technical expertise

  • Monitors and evaluates business initiatives against key performance indicators and communicates results and recommendations to management

  • Communicates and presents project information to team and provides presentations/updates to management

  • Establishes, modifies, documents and communicates standards of practice around data retrieval, data manipulation, data quality, data reporting and data analytics

  • Influences strategy through data and analytics

  • Understands strategic direction and can contribute to data analytics initiatives

  • Independent execution of documented processes relating to loading and quality checking a variety of complex data sets that are the foundation of the platform

  • Use analysis to influence and drive action within finance & leadership by using fact-based and forward-looking perspectives to identify emerging issues and current trends, and assist in implementation of strategies

  • Strong skills in Microsoft 365 applications, prompt engineering, data analysis, and workflow automation to unlock productivity gains through intelligent document generation, real-time insights, and aptitude to use AI capabilities to execute on use cases

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This job does not have supervisory duties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4 year Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

  • 3 or more years of experience (Preferred)

  • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • No Certification, License or Registration is required for the job.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • General insurance knowledge

  • Technology related finance acumen

  • Advanced analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to document complex processes

  • Experience working with large, complex data sets

  • Expertise in data tools (e.g., Advanced Excel & Power Query, Power BI)

  • Experience in different programming languages such as SQL (relational tables/databases), VB

  • Deep familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint. Ability to use Copilot to automate tasks like summarizing documents, generating reports, and creating presentations.

  • Prompt Engineering: Skill in crafting effective prompts to get high-quality outputs from Copilot and an understanding of how to iterate and refine prompts.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • General understanding of infrastructure platforms

  • Advanced time management skills and organization skills with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business

  • Intellectual curiosity and drive for continuous improvement

  • Programming & Scripting (Optional but valuable): Basic knowledge of PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript for integrations. Experience with APIs and data connectors.

  • Apptio development (preferred but not required).

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $70,500.00 - 124,125.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
