JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Stuckeman School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture is seeking a part-time student office assistant to provide essential support to the school by assisting with day-to-day operational tasks, including printer maintenance, presentation setup and takedown, and general office duties. This position is ideal for a student seeking flexible, part-time work in a professional environment while developing practical skills in office administration and technical support. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.Qualifications include reliability and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Printer Maintenance & Support
    • Monitor office printers for functionality and supply levels (toner, paper, etc.).
    • Troubleshoot common printer issues (e.g., paper jams, connectivity problems).
    • Coordinate with IT or service vendors for repairs or advanced troubleshooting.
  • Presentation Setup & Take down
    • Set up projectors, screens, microphones, and other AV equipment for meetings and presentations.
    • Arrange and organize seating or materials as needed for events.
    • Assist with take down, equipment storage, and room reset after events.
  • General Office Support
    • Greet visitors and provide basic information or assistance.
    • Assist with filing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
    • Maintain organized and clean common areas (conference rooms, supply areas, etc.).
    • Run errands on campus (e.g., mail delivery, supply pickup).
  • Other Duties as Assigned
    • Support staff with special projects or tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to anticipate and address problems proactively.
  • Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment (printers, copiers, AV equipment).
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 25 lbs.) as needed.
  • Punctuality and attention to detail.

Work Schedule:

  • Part-time: 10 hours per week
  • Flexible around class schedule; occasional early morning or evening hours may be required based on event needs.

Compensation:

  • $15/hr
