Your Role on Our Team:

As a Cloud Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for administering, optimizing, and supporting our cloud-based data platforms, including Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Microsoft Fabric , and Azure Data Factory (ADF). You'll ensure secure, scalable, and reliable data infrastructure, enabling analytics and data engineering teams to deliver business value. You'll collaborate with IT, data engineering, and business stakeholders to drive operational excellence and innovation across our data ecosystem.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Databricks Azure account, workspaces, Unity Catalog, and metastore configurations using infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
  • Provision, monitor, and optimize Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) environments for performance and security such as secrets, credentials, and service principals using Azure Key Vault and related tools.
  • Develop, orchestrate, and troubleshoot Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines for ETL and data movement.
  • Implement and enforce role-based access controls and data governance policies across platforms.
  • Monitor platform health, usage, and costs; build dashboards for observability and incident response.
  • Proactively research and evaluate emerging cloud data technologies, tools, and best practices; design and execute proof-of-concept (POC) projects to assess their potential value and applicability for Milwaukee Tool's data platform.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to support data product delivery and resolve platform issues.
  • Document support procedures, playbooks, and contribute to knowledge base articles for common issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience administering Databricks, Azure and ADF in an enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Azure GitHub/DevOps, and CI/CD pipeline management.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark.
  • Applies and advocates for coding and testing standards.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, data governance, and role-based access control.
  • Experience with monitoring tools, incident response, and operational dashboards.
  • Solid written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Experience supporting machine learning and advanced analytics workloads.
  • Familiarity with reporting solutions such as Power BI.
  • Knowledge of multi-cloud environments and hybrid data architectures.
