We are currently hiring for Die Assembler at our Cudahy, Wisconsin located approximately 5 miles south of Milwaukee. As a Die Assembler, you are an integral part of a successful team and are responsible for operating machines and use machining tools to grind, polish dies and trimmers that have been used for our forgings and require repair. A successful Die Assembler is a problem-solver, safety focused, and understands the importance of precision and quality. In order to become successful, you'll have to learn ATI, our products, customers, and procedures; and work collaboratively with other cross-functional teams to ensure product is manufactured to quality and customer specifications. This position follows a night shift schedule of 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM on a rotating schedule:
- 2 days on, 2 days off
- 3 days on, 2 days off
- 2 days on, 3 days off
Responsibilities:
- Grinds impressions, polish, blending welded or machine surfaces to required contour of the impression.
- Technique of grinding and polishing is performed to die room standards.
- Inspect and redline tooling.
- Hand stamp heat codes in dies.
- Work on hot dies.
- Die and trimmer repair work consists of benching machined die surfaces, peen cracked impressions, blending, benching, and polishing to put dies/trimmers in a serviceable condition.
- Works with various tools to include pneumatic and battery powered tools, templates, and measuring instruments such as calipers & micrometers.
- Set tooling up to print.
- Operate stacker, gantry and overhead cranes safely.

Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year of manufacturing environment experience
- Forklift and overhead crane operation experience (preferred)
- Prior machine and precision grinding experience (preferred)
Skills
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use hand tools
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Mechanically inclined
- Knowledge of die, cleaning and polishing operations (preferred)
