 Presbyterian is seeking a Patient Scheduler. Schedulers focus on coordinating patient scheduling with precision to ensure a smooth and positive healthcare experience. It involves verifying insurance eligibility, securing prior authorizations or referrals, and responding to provider network inquiries using specialized tools. The position also emphasizes patient comfort through proactive communication and rounding, helping manage expectations and reduce anxiety during delays.      Achieve exceptional patient experience using CARES, AIDET, and EPE toolsAddress and attempt to resolve complaints using key words at key timesManage conflict and involve a supervisor when necessaryRound with waiting patients to ensure comfort and communicate delaysPerform patient scheduling and validate accurate demographicsGuide informed conversations about in-network coverage following CDS and RDS guidelinesSet expectations regarding prior authorizations, referrals, and out-of-pocket costsRefer patients to Financial Advocate or Financial Advocacy Center as appropriateCreate complete and accurate telephone encounter messages and route via Epic in-basketInstruct patients on the Release of Information process and ensure proper form submissionUnderstand the link between quality service, patient satisfaction, and reimbursementMeet telephone performance metrics including time to service and abandonment rateMake confirmation calls with visit-specific directions and instructionsRespond promptly to patients in distress and alert clinical team per clinic manager guidelinesMaintain a clean and safe scheduling area, waiting room, and walkwaysReport any safety concerns immediatelyComplete annual Code Blue competency for clerical staffPerform appointment reminder calls and rescheduling as assignedEvaluate provider schedules and take action to ensure accuracy and efficiencyDemonstrate CARES behaviors: Collaborate, be Accountable, Respect, Engage, and ServeBenefits
