Job Description

The position must independently manage priorities, liaising with business functions as required based on Visa strategy and key business drivers, using discretion within the regulatory framework, while assessing the impact on the Visa brand, the integrity of the network, the client's businesses and the feasibility of suggested remedial action in case of waivers. Furthermore, they will support the Visa Rules Committee Due Diligence and Governance Process and represent the Visa Rules Management team within global and regional offices to ensure the effective maintenance and introduction of Visa global initiatives and best practices.

The role is responsible and accountable for:

  • Manages multiple, moderate to complex rule waiver requests from business sponsors, prioritizing as needed.
  • Achieve and contribute to team Objective and Key Results (OKRs).
  • Directs staff across various Visa business functions regarding rule waiver topics.
  • Oversees the development of new and revised Visa rules.
  • Guides waiver requests through the approval process, providing regular updates to business sponsors and clients.
  • Communicates approved waivers to all impacted clients.
  • Tracks and ensures the resolution of proposed plans submitted by cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Provides expert advice and interpretation of the Visa Rules to both clients and internal staff in response to inquiries.
  • Interacts with clients, Sales Account Executives, and CS Account Managers to ensure understanding of and compliance with Visa Rules.
  • Executes established Rules and Compliance procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains key relationships with clients and other entities.
  • Organizes and leads activities related to client consultations and action plans.
  • Collaborates with clients and internal teams to ensure understanding and adherence to Visa Rules.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of departmental processes and procedures.
  • Supports the Visa Rules Committee's due diligence and governance processes.
  • Represents the team within global and regional forums to maintain and introduce best practices and initiatives.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by supporting special projects as required.
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a global team, collaborating across different time zones to provide consistent support.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • You will have a high degree of mental agility to diagnose issues and take the lead to solve them collaboratively working across Visa and regionally as required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven abilities in negotiating and influencing customers and staff, including strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills to convey complex topics in Plain English and Spanish.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and demonstrated track record of working with data to develop business-oriented solutions as well as the ability to apply sound business analysis to limit the downstream impact of decisions.
  • Good project management skills to co-ordinate divergent interests
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating needs into successful deliverables.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure and adhering to tight deadlines.
  • Extensive experience with Visa, a Regulatory Body, a Card Membership Organization or other Financial Industry body and knowledge of Visa Rules.
  • Awareness and understanding of Visa and Client / Industry business priorities.
  • Understanding of Visa products, services, and systems.
  • Working (intermediate) knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint.
  • Visa experience or in-depth knowledge of the payment solutions industry is highly desired - especially Card Payments, ACH or Push Payments and the relevant network operating rules.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 109,800.00 to 159,250.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
