POSITION SUMMARY

Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking an IT Strategy Manager who will work closely with the Chief Digital Officer (CDO), Global IT Officer (GITO), and IT Strategy Officer to develop and execute IT strategies aligned with corporate and business strategies. This role involves gathering, analyzing, and evaluating information from both external and internal environments to set achievable goals and formulate actionable plans.

This position will be on a Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in our Culver City, CA office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

IT Strategy Development

  • Collaborate with the CDO, GITO, and IT Strategy Officer to formulate a group IT strategy that aligns with business objectives.

  • The strategy will encompass system architecture, IT resource portfolio, IT risk management, and system development standards.

  • Develop mid-term IT plans at the organizational level, excluding individual system strategies.

  • Regularly assess the progress of the mid-term strategy execution and make adjustments and improvements as necessary.

  • Under the direction of the IT Strategy Officer, define, visualize, monitor, and evaluate group IT performance indicators.

Organizational Operations Related to Group IT Management

  • Execute operational activities related to organizational management in collaboration with team members under the guidance of the IT Strategy Officer.

  • Manage the annual IT global conference and CIO meetings for group companies.

  • Oversee important global IT management meetings on a monthly basis.

  • Provide regular progress reports on IT activities to management and stakeholders.

Creation of IT Group Synergies

  • From a cross-business perspective, develop and implement strategies and plans for creating synergies within the IT group in collaboration with the GITO and IT Strategy Officer.

  • Manage various synergy programs and support teams in planning and executing synergy initiatives.

  • Explore and evaluate synergy creation opportunities through collaboration with global and local stakeholders, defining relevant activities.

  • Develop execution plans for defined activities and initiate projects in collaboration with the GITO and IT Strategy Officer.

  • Monitor the progress of execution projects and manage project oversight.

  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation of synergy creation outcomes.

  • Honesty, trustworthiness and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in IT development and maintenance.

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT consulting, particularly in strategy formulation and system implementation.

  • Knowledge of system architecture, IT resource portfolio, and IT risk management.

  • Understanding of various IT tools and platforms (e.g., cloud services, database management, security measures).

  • Effective communication skills with management and stakeholders.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration and coordination with team members.

  • Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate information from external and internal environments.

  • Analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.

  • Strategic thinking ability to formulate IT strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Flexible approach to developing mid-term plans and evaluating execution progress.

  • Leadership skills to guide teams and drive projects forward.

  • Program management capabilities for synergy creation initiatives.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $145,000 to $160,000 In addition to the annual base salary, this role has an annual bonus target of 13%. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
