Satellite Mission Management Systems Engineer, Lead

The Opportunity:

Booz Allen is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking lead systems engineer to help our clients transform their satellite mission management systems to meet the challenges of the future. Satellite mission management is changing as space architectures transform from small numbers of highly complex satellites to large, integrated and proliferated architectures that require fundamental new ways of transforming customer needs into mission value through satellite tasking, planning, scheduling, collection, and processing. Automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, hybrid cloud, and edge computing approaches will all play a role in meeting the future mission management challenge. Booz Allen needs your experience and expertise to build our business and support our clients to make this future a reality.

As a lead Satellite Mission Management Systems Engineer, you will help define end-to-end solutions to for emerging space and ground system architectures for national security programs. You will leverage your knowledge of the industry and existing mission management systems and approaches in collaboration with other systems engineers, software developers, and subject matter experts to define and model candidate system architectures, conduct trade studies, and identify gaps and risks that must be addressed to successfully develop future mission management systems. You will engage with clients and industry partners to keep the team informed about the development of future space architectures and develop white papers, demonstrations, and proposals for next-generation mission management systems to continue expanding our business and mission impact. As our business grows, you will take on systems engineering team leadership roles on one or more contracts to ensure successful delivery of new mission management systems to our clients.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with national security satellite systems for SIGINT or GEOINT

  • Experience with satellite mission management and ground system architectures

  • Experience with systems engineering lifecycles on large government satellite ground systems

  • Experience with descriptive modeling tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architecture

  • Experience with engineering scripting tools such as MATLAB, Python, or VBA

  • Top Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience with systems engineering, or Master's degree and 6+ years of experience with systems engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with engineering for cloud-based technologies

  • Experience with data fabric architecture and related technologies such as Kafka and Confluent

  • Experience developing satellite models and simulations for proliferated constellations

  • Experience developing solutions in classified environments within the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense

  • Experience in Agile and DevSecOps software development

  • Knowledge of automation techniques or artificial intelligence and machine learning

  • TS/SCI clearance

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
